ST. LOUIS, MO -- Three South Dakota State Jackrabbits and two South Dakota Coyotes have received the highest academic honor from the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

SDSU's Seth Daughters, Josiah Fitzsimmons and Alex Olinger and USD's Will Powell and Kyle Cichos received the MVFC President's Council Academic Excellence Award for the 2012-2013 academic year.  The award requires a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average (through Fall 2012 semester) and participation in athletics a minimum of two years. The student-athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation.

The Jackrabbits' 57 student-athletes named to the MVFC Honor Roll tied with Illinois State for the most in the 10-team conference. The Coyotes had 34 players on the Honor Roll in which the student-athletes must have a 3.0 GPA for the fall term and must have completed 12 credit hours.

In addition, 22 SDSU honorees and six from USD received the Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, which requires a minimum 3.2 GPA for the previous two semesters.
