Parkston native and former Iowa Hawkeye Riley Reiff  is still looking for some quality time on the offensive line with the Detroit Lions this season, but he was involved in a Lions scoring play in the NFL opener from a different spot.

The first round draft pick was lined up at tight end on running back Joique Bell’s 1-yard TD run in a 27-23 win over the Rams.

Lions Coach Jim Schwartz told the Detroit Free Press:

“We actually had Riley Reiff in at tight end on that package, and we needed to get the ball in.”

Reiff is backing up veteran Jeff Backus at left tackle.  The 1-1 Lions host the Titans Sunday.
