Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Miami HEAT announced today that Adam Simon has been named general manager, basketball operations for the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Simon, who also holds the role of director of player personnel with the HEAT, will oversee the basketball operations of the NBA Development League franchise.

Simon is entering his 19th season with the HEAT and third as director of player personnel. Simon served as director of college/international scouting from 2004 thru 2011. Simon was promoted to scout/director of college scouting during the 2003-04 season after serving as a scout in 2002-03. He served in the capacity of scouting coordinator during the 2001-02 season after serving as basketball operations administrative assistant from 1997-2001. As an intern in the basketball operations department in 1996-97, he organized information for the NBA Draft. The St. Thomas University graduate originally joined the HEAT in 1995-96, serving as an intern in the video room under current head coach Erik Spoelstra. 

Simon and newly appointed head coach Pat Delany will be introduced to media and fans at a press conference on Monday, Aug. 19 at the Sanford Fieldhouse (2215 W. Pentagon Pl.) at 2 p.m. Additional representatives from the HEAT organization will be in attendance to discuss more details regarding the hybrid partnership.
