NBA journeyman Jason Collins came out as the first professional gay athlete, and Robbie Rogers played in an MLS game becoming the first gay athlete to play in a prominent North American pro league on Sunday night.

Today, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson spoke out against gay marriage. "It's not something I believe in." Peterson has family members who are gay that he loves and respects, but doesn't believe in gay marriage.

Peterson told the Associated Press, "To each his own, but I'm not with it. I have relatives who are gay. I'm not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love 'em. But again, I'm not with that. That's not something I believe in. But to each his own."
