Winning isn't everything. Rooting is.

WalletHub has created a list of the best sports cities in America. There are a lot of cities, sports, teams -- pro, college and high school -- people and sports in the U.S., so figuring this out was probably about as tough as memorizing an NFL playbook. How did the site do it?

WalletHub compared 423 cities across more than 50 key metrics related to the five largest sports in the U.S.: football, basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer. Our data set ranges from 'performance level of the city’s team(s)' to 'average ticket price per game' to 'number of sports bars.'"

Which metropolis led the way? New York City, with 11 teams -- we're including those that play in New Jersey -- offers no shortage of options for fans looking to cheer.
