It was expected that Anna Brecht would break Lincoln's 31 year scoring record, but the rate that it happened was astonishing.

Brecht entered this season needing 161 points to tie the record. She was able to do that just eight games into the season. After posting incredible games against Marshall, MN (29), Moorhead, MN (25), Roosevelt (29), and O'Gorman (16), it became clear that Brecht was going to get the record quick.

She finally did so on January 10th against Yankton with a standard move from Brecht.

The Wisconsin-Green Bay recruit finished the game with 28 points, extending the record to 1340 points.

And she isn't done yet. Lincoln still has 12 regular season games left and they will play a minimum of two district/region games. The record is broken, but the question now becomes how much more it will be extended.

Then we'll see how many years it takes for someone else to come close.
