SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana College director of Athletics, Slade Larscheid, announced today the addition of two staff members and the promotion of two others.

Jill Schlekeway and Abby Vlastuin join the athletic department while Bryan Miller has been promoted to assistant athletic director for external relations and Brandon Hunt to assistant baseball coach.

Schlekeway will serve as the community relations coordinator for Augustana Athletics and Vlastuin an intern in athletic administration.

"We believe the addition and promotion of these individuals will strengthen Augustana Athletics long into the future," Larscheid said. "It is great to have everyone on board as we begin the fall. They bring vision, experience and a diverse skill set to our department and College."

Miller enters his seventh year with the athletic department after serving as the marketing and promotions director with Augustana since 2008. Miller is responsible for coordinating marketing efforts on behalf of the athletic department and organizing promotions. He is also responsible for fundraising efforts and sport supervision. Prior to his time at Augustana, Miller served as a marketing intern for Minnesota State University, Mankato and Ohio State University.

Hunt, a former Viking baseball player and 2007 Augustana graduate, spent the last two seasons as a volunteer assistant on Tim Huber's staff. Working primarily with the catchers, Hunt will also handle the majority of the recruiting duties for the baseball program. Hunt played a role in the development of Augustana catcher Jack Goihl in 2013 who was a first team All-America selection by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Hunt was a member of the 2003 North Central Conference Championship baseball team.

Schlekeway brings a wealth of administrative experience to Augustana, most recently serving as an associate athletic director at the University of South Dakota from 2009 to 2011. She served on the senior management team for the USD athletic department, working closely with and contributing to major decisions and strategic planning of the athletic department, including compliance, budgeting, scheduling and marketing. She also served as the Senior Woman Administrator at USD and oversaw all aspects of the NCAA Compliance program. She began her stint at USD as an assistant athletic director in 2006 before being promoted to associate athletic director in 2009. Before her time at USD, Schlekeway spent one year (2004-05) as the compliance coordinator at the University of Southern California after a one-year internship in membership services with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Vlastuin currently works as a nutritionist for Hy-Vee and is a former women's basketball player for North Dakota State University. She was a four-year letterwinner for the Bison and was an All-Summit League first team selection in 2011. Vlastuin averaged 9.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game over her career and was a four-time Summit League All-Academic Team honoree and served on the league's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Vice President and NDSU President.

Lee Taylorwas also hired as an assistant athletic director for operations on Aug. 12.
