The Augustana men and women's basketball teams put on a show for fans during the opening night of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament.  The 5th seeded men defeated Bemidji State 88-72.

Jordan Spencer led four Vikings in double figures with 21 points, adding 10 assists for the games only double-double, his fifth of the season. John Warren finished with 20 points, while Adam Dykman added 19 and Matt Cartwright 12 points in the win.

The Vikings advance to the NSIC Tournament Quarterfinals for the sixth straight season, and face the team that eliminated them last year in Southwest Minnesota State. The Vikings and Mustangs tip from the Sanford Pentagon on Saturday at 5:30 PM.

The top seeded Augustana women’s team wins 94-57 over Bemidji State.  Logan O'Farrell poured in 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting for Augustana and distributed three assists. Presley O'Farrell added 13 while Peterson dropped 10 points on an efficient 4-of-5 from the field.

The Vikings, who improve to 24-3 overall, advance to the quarterfinals of the NSIC Tournament to take on Minnesota State Sunday, February 25 at 5:30 PM at the Sanford Pentagon.

Over at the Stewart Center it was the University of Sioux Falls Men’s Basketball Team rolling to a 98-68 win over Minnesota Crookston.

Trevon Evans led the Cougars with 23 points and Drew Guebert added 20 points in the win.

The Cougars advance to the league tournament quarterfinals for the third straight year and face North number two seed St. Cloud State on Sunday.

University of Sioux Falls Women's Team has advanced for the third consecutive season with a 60-50 win over University of Mary.

Kaley Hummel and Mariah Szymanski each scored 20 points to rally the Cougars.  The win snapped a four-game losing streak at home.

Next up for Sioux Falls, Minnesota State Moorhead on Sunday.
