Over the weekend we found out how the NSIC will be matched up in the NCAA Regional Tournament. The stage is set for both Augustana University men and the University of Sioux Falls women.

Augustana University men's basketball earned the No. 1 seed and will host the NCAA Central Region Tournament March 12-13, 15 at the Sanford Pentagon. Augustana (28-2) will host the NCAA Central Region Tournament for the second straight season. The Vikings will take on No. 8 seed Ouachita Baptist (19-12) at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12.

Northwest Missouri State (25-5) earned the No. 2 seed and will play No. 7 seed Ouachita Baptist (19-12) at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. MSU Moorhead (30-5) earned the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 seed Minnesota State (21-9) at 12 p.m.

No. 4 seed Nebraska-Kearney (20-11) and No. 5 seed (Fort Hays State (20-10) will play the final quarterfinal of the day at 8 p.m.

For the first time in program history, University of Sioux Falls Women’s Basketball earned a spot in the NCAA postseason and the Cougars received the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Central Region Tournament. USF will face No. 2 seed Pittsburg State on Friday, March 11 in Pittsburg, Kan. Game times to be announced later this week.

Sioux Falls enters their first NCAA postseason with a 27-5 record, tying the USF Women’s Basketball program set in 2011-12. The Cougars finished second in the NSIC with a 17-5 league record and an overall record of 23-5 in the regular season.

The winner of the first round matchup between USF and Pittsburg State will play the winner of No. 3 Missouri Western and No. 6 Arkansas Tech on Saturday, March 12, and the NCAA Central Region Championship will be held on Monday, March 14.
