WB Montreal's Batman: Arkham Origins isn't the only Batman game due out this Friday. Armature is also bringing the Dark Knight to the Vita in Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.

The 10-minute gameplay video above gives us an in-depth look at Batman's incursion into the prison. At this point in the story, Batman is looking for the Penguin, as he needs access to the Arkham wing. There are hostages that need saving, and only Batman is up to the task. Fortunately, he's got his usual array of gadgets and gizmos, though with a decidedly Vita twist.

As you can see, combat plays out almost identically to that of the core console versions, though on a 2.5D plane. Many of the same goonish threats you've faced in previous entries return, so many of the obstacles in your path should seem familiar. The Metroid-vania style is also on display, showing how unlocking certain gear gives you access to areas previously restricted.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will be out on the Vita on Oct. 25. A 3DS version will also be available, too.
