The trainer and handler of Professional Bull Rider's (PBR) number one bucking bull, Bushwacker, was found dead of an apparent suicide on Thursday near Bunyan, Texas.

Officials in Erath County, say Kent Cox, trainer and handler of Bushwacker were called to a possible suicide early Thursday morning.  Cox was found on the property where he kept and trained the bulls.

The PBR has released a statement that says,

The PBR is sad to hear of the passing of Kent Cox and would like to express that our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate Cox family.

The number one bucking bull, Bushwacker, will be retiring from the circuit at the end of the 2014 PBR season.  Bushwacker is still expected to do his thing in the Dr Pepper Iron Cowboy V in Arlington, Texas on Saturday and in the Million Dollar Ride on Sunday.

Cox has faced some trouble with the law lately.  He was arrested by police after a brief standoff in front of Dublin City Hall in Dublin, Texas in January.
