The Boston Red Sox traded away Jon Lester this morning and now have traded another pitcher with the same first name, just spelled differently.

John Lackey has been traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for Allen Craig and Joe Kelly.

Lackey will find a place right away in the St. Louis rotation as they make a push toward October.

Time will tell in regards to Kelly and Craig's roles with the Red Sox but seem to be immediate contributors this summer either way.

Lackey, who went 11-7 with a 3.60 ERA in 21 starts this season -- his fourth with the Red Sox, will try and be that driving force to help catapult the birds to the postseason.
