A strong fourth quarter by the Canton Charge sparked a 108-99 victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce at the Canton Memorial Civic Center Sunday afternoon.

NBA flavor permeated the contest as three players on assignment from their respective clubs graced the court.  One of them is rookie Sergey Karasev who was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers but is on his seventh assignment with the Charge (25-15).  The other two assignees were Arinze Onuaku for Canton and DeAndre Liggins for the Skyforce (23-17) who are currently on 10-day contracts with Cleveland and Miami Heat respectively.  This player movement between the affiliate and parent club is relatively new, but beneficial as the Heat and Cavaliers can use this method to evaluate players.

Onuaku, a forward from Syracuse led the Charge with 28 points on 13-17 shooting from the floor plus grabbing 17 rebounds.  Karasev a guard from Russia was similar in productivity with 23 points on 7-14 shooting and connecting four times from downtown.  Liggins, the former Kentucky product showed influence in his versatility with 13 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and a blocked shot.   In the footage below, you get a dose of Larry Drew for the Skyforce who finished 21 points and 6 assists and Henry Walker’s exploits were duly noted.

In the deciding quarter, Canton played their best by hitting 11 of 15 shots from the floor and 15 of 19 from the line to pile up 38 points.  Sioux Falls was just decent by comparison shooting 11 of 20 in the quarter (6 of 10 from long range) to tally 33 markers.  These two potentially playoff bound teams will meet again on Tuesday in Canton.
