Legendary defensive back and former Heisman Trophy winner, Charles Woodson will be retiring after this season.

Drafted by the Raiders and eventually landing in Green Bay only to end his career in Oakland only seemed fitting for one of the best his position has ever seen.

The Oakland Raiders host the San Diego Chargers on Thursday Night Football in what could be their final home game ever in the city as well.  They will end their season the following week in Kansas City against their AFC West foe.

According to ESPN.com and Bill Williamson, Woodson told his teammates about his decision Monday and told them he knew back in November that this would be his final season.

A lot of people will remember Woodson in Oakland, but I love what he did in Green Bay reinventing himself and extending a great career even longer than some thought it may.

His accolades individually include defensive player of the year award in 2009 and winning a Super Bowl with the Packers in 2011.
