A volunteer middle-school football coach named Todd Kennedy used to coach the Durham Middlefield football team in Durham, Connecticut that is made up of kids who are in grades 4 through 6.

He told the team a couple weeks ago that bullying would not be tolerated. Well, when he heard that one of his players was bullying a teammate, he addressed the kid and made him run a few laps around the field.

The school board didn't like this so much. The coach was suspended the next morning and then this past Monday he was fired!

The firing spurred three boys to quit the team and even Kennedy's two sons quit. Some parents in the community are backing his decision.

Should the coach have been fired? How should he have handled this?
