FAYETTE, IA -- The University of Sioux Falls suffered a lopsided 10-0 conference loss at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa Saturday afternoon. The game marked the Cougars' largest margin of defeat this season.

USF drops to 0-11 (0-9 NSIC), while UIU improves to 9-2 on the year and 6-2 in conference play.

UIU attacked early and often, scoring back-to-back goals in the opening nine minutes of play. Near the 36 minute mark, the Peacocks added two more goals to go into the break with a four score lead.

The second half didn't get much better for the visiting team. UIU would tally goals nearly every seven minutes, tacking on six goals in the final 45 minutes. Alyssa Petersburg ended the game's scoring in the 84th minutes to give the Peacocks a 10-0 victory, their ninth of the season.

In the end, UIU had several more chances than the Cougars. They finished with a 17 shots on target in comparison to two for USF. The Peacocks also held a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Sidney Allen and Abbey Roelfson led USF with one shot on goal each.

Corrin Cook made the start in net for the Cougars, where she was credited with seven saves.

USF looks to bounce back Sunday in Winona, Minn. when they visit Winona State for a 1p.m. matchup.
