BOTTINEAU, N.D. (AP) — Dakota College at Bottineau has won its ninth junior college national hockey championship, and first in six years.

The Lumberjacks beat top seed Erie Community College of New York 4-3 in overtime on Sunday to win the NJCAA title in Binghamton, New York.

Phoenix McElroy-Scott got the game-winner for No. 2 seed Dakota College. He also was named tournament MVP.

Williston State College also made the final four but lost 6-1 to Erie in Saturday's semifinals.

Dakota College also won national titles in 1986, 1991, 1998, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
