Dave St. Peter of Minnesota Twins talks about signing of Torii Hunter
Dave St. Peter joins Jeff Thurn on Overtime.
St. Peter is the President of the Minnesota Twins. Hear his conversation with Thurn below:
Why did the Twins decide to sign Torii Hunter again?
"Well we certainly weighed the options and was pretty transparent about our belief that we needed an outfielder. We also clearly need to address pitching. We hopefully do that going forward. But at the end of the day, we certainly thought Torii was a good fit. Offensively, he really has been remarkably consistent. He certainly knows the American League and American League Central. Ultimately he's a guy that has a tremendous affinity for this organization and for our fan base. We certainly think he can help Paul Molitor provide some instrumental veteran leadership on our club. So we thought it was the right move. He certainly had many options. We weren't the only team interested in Torii. It's been well-documented, and we think he will be a good investment. Certainly anything we did with Torii will not prevent us from bringing on additional players."
