This past weekend the Baseball Hall of Fame welcomed a new class of inductees, including Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines, Iván Rodríguez, John Schuerholz and Bud Selig.

But there is a group of players who are still waiting for a call that may never come for reasons that cast a shadow across the diamond. This group includes Pete Rose, who has been banned from baseball for life (and that includes he hall) for gambling on the game; members of the steroid era such as Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Roger Clemens and Rafael Palmeiro (he of the Congressional finger wag); or for reasons unknown like Steve Garvey.

In this episode of Double Overtime, Jeff Thurn makes the case for their inclusion.

In a recent Facebook poll, our fans picked Pet Rose as the one player that should be in the hall who isn't.
