ESPN anchor Stuart Scott has passed away and his long battle with cancer has ended.

A industry changer, a man on a mission and a tremendous father all describe the man that is Stuart Scott. All be it accurate descriptions, the adjectives don't do justice to what Stuart Scott meant to this world.

I grew up on ESPN, literally and figuratively.  I have seen the individuals on Sportscenter come and go.  I now call it my profession, that of sports media, but I can clearly see that Stuart and I had and will always have something in common beyond the fact that we both worked in the sports industry, it's our passion.

I hope that I can continue to have passion like Stuart Scott.  Not just passion for sports or my industry, but passion for LIFE.

It was so evident at the ESPY's this year, his passion for life and his family.  He wasn't superstar ESPN anchor Stuart Scott at that presentation, he was a father, a man, a person fighting a terrible disease because he loved life.  He didn't give up, he never gave up.

As this earth will never see another Stuart Scott, we all will be better off because this earth did have a Stuart Scott and we all are better off because of it!

Rest in peace sir... Rest in peace.
