FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons have activated linebacker LaRoy Reynolds from the injured list.

After suffering a chest injury before the season, Reynolds returned to practice two weeks ago. He was not eligible to play until Sunday's game at the Carolina Panthers.

Last season, Reynolds started three games and was one of Atlanta's top special team players. He had 23 tackles and one fumble recovery, including seven tackles on special teams.

Reynolds adds depth at a position that is short-handed because of rookie Duke Riley's knee injury. To make room on the roster, the Falcons placed another ailing linebacker, Jordan Tripp, on injured reserve with a concussion.
