At last, the day has come that Square Enix decided to inform us of when the Vita version of Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster will be released. Not only that, but they've also announced a Collector's Edition for the PlayStation 3 version. It's a good day to be a Final Fantasy 10/10-2 fan.

A post by Square Enix Senior Product Manager Sakura Minamida on the PlayStation Blog heralds in the coming of the Collector's Edition for PlayStation 3. While the Limited Edition for Final Fantasy 10/10-2 has already been announced, it's more of a free upgrade for those that pre-order the game and want to get their hands on special box art and an art book.

The Collector's Edition, however, will cost fans $79.99 and is exclusive to the Square Enix online store. According to the post, this package includes the following:

  • Full-size art book packaging featuring 40 pages of imagery from the beautiful world of Spira.
  • Visual Soundtrack - Over six hours of music set to the games' most memorable moments on Blu-ray disc.
  • Five lithographs of iconic artwork and characters.
  • The game itself.
Minamida said, "Our goal with this Collector’s Edition was to give this game’s biggest fans something they could really cherish. I hope you enjoy the results!"
Keep in mind that this Collector's Edition is exclusive to the Square Enix online store, so go secure a copy for yourself soon before it sells out and you're left with nothing on release day.
Speaking of release dates, the Vita version has been revealed to have the same release date as the PlayStation 3 version: March 18, 2014. The Vita version may not be available in Limited or Collector's Editions, but it does support a cross save function. A combo pack will be available for download on the PlayStation Store or you can grab a physical copy of Final Fantasy 10 which comes with a voucher to download Final Fantasy 10-2. No matter how you look at it, there are plenty of ways to jump back into the world of Spira and reconnect with old friends.
