Finally! A Golf Tournanment With Names We Recognize. Plus, Who Should Be Getting Fitted For A Green Jacket?
The calendar says we're six weeks away from The Masters, and you can already sense the golf world is ramping things up in anticipation of the season's first major.
Last week's WGC Match Play Championship had a dramatic finish, with Australia's Jason Day needing an extra hole to defeat relative unknown Victor Dubuisson of France.
And while the event provided great excitement, 4 Deep Golf's Joel Harrington told me this may be the last time we see this event with this exact format:
With six weeks to go to Augusta, we're seeing a lot of the big name players on the PGA Tour teeing it up in the same tournament for the first time this season, as the likes of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, and Adam Scott play in Florida at the Honda Classic.
This is the tournament Rory won two years ago, but dropped from the field last year with mysterious wisdom tooth pain.
I asked Joel about Rory's (and the rest of the big names) chances what we need to see out of this group this week as they attempt to shake off the rust:
It's never too early to start talking about the Masters, which this year runs April 10th through 13th.
We'll get a better sense in the next few weeks of who's got the best game going to Augusta, but that hasn't stopped the gambling houses from posting the early Masters odds.
So what does Joel think of the early projections?
