SIOUX FALLS - Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Saturday at 6 a.m. The caller reported a residential duplex with smoke coming from the roof and residents still inside the duplex.

When firefighters arrived the occuptnats were still inside the structure. Crews found a fire burning in the attic of the duplex and had to breach the ceiling to access the fire to extinguish it.

The fire was extinguished in approx. 20 minutes. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Sioux Falls Fire Rescue. The structure suffered moderate fire and smoke damage.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone to have a fire evacuation plan and practice it.
