Former Denver Broncos wide receiver Vance Johnson joined Jeff Thurn on Tuesday's edition of Overtime Live from Radio Row at the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.

Hear Johnson's interview with Thurn below:

Johnson compares getting ready for football games to having to get ready for life after football?

'I will tell you. I've had a chance to reflect. Sober now for 16 months. When I was playing football and getting ready to play football as a child, hopefully as a professional athlete, that was easy. Being driven to get up in the morning and go work out hard and that was something that was in me and I had ability to do that. But sobriety and needing to save your life, stay sober was virtually impossible without the help that was out there that reached out to me. Now several years ago, I lost a son to a motorcycle accident and with my drinking from the past, I went over overboard and started taking prescription pills and drinking heavily. To a point I put myself in a come and literally was on my death bed with tubes hanging out of me. I know you're listeners aren't going to be able to see this photo, but your reaction when you see me on my deathbed.."
