Former South Dakota State University women's soccer student-athlete Diana Potterveld has been nominated by the Summit League for the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

Potterveld and North Dakota State softball student athlete Cheyennne Garcia who are in a small selected group of female student athletes up for the award.

Potterveld just recently graduated from SDSU with a 4.0 and was the Summit League Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

With 142 finalists remaining, the list will be cut down to 30 and those top honorees will be celebrated at the banquet on October 16th in Indianapolis where they will also crown the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year.
