There was no doubt in my mind when Amy Williams took the University of Nebraska head coaching job that she would be a success.

That said, considering the situation she took over, I was surprised with how much success she has had in year two with the Huskers.

She has now been rewarded for that success as Williams has been named the Big10 Coach of the Year.

On the court, Nebraska has adapted her style of hard work and grit along with a relentless effort on both ends of the court that has propelled the Huskers to a 20-9 record overall and 11-5 in the conference.

I'm so happy for Williams who is one of my favorite coaches in any sport and watching her first hand have the success at the University of South Dakota was a pleasure and it's a joy to see that success continue at Nebraska.

They head into the Big10 Conference Tournament as the #3 seed.
