He's considered one of the best open field runners of all time, scoring a record 22 touchdowns his rookie year.

He was a first-round pick in the 1965 NFL Draft, and played his entire pro career for the NFL's Chicago Bears.

Sayers is a member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame.

He was known as 'The Kansas Comet'.
