The Minnesota Vikings have just home games remaining in the Metrodome in Downtown Minneapolis, before moving for two seasons to make way for a new stadium.

We now know when construction will begin on that building.

The official groundbreaking has been set for Tuesday, December 3rd

The $975 million facility has one hurdle left before the shovels go in the dirt - when the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority meets Friday to finalize the project's cost.

The Vikings will play in the new stadium starting in the 2016 season, after two seasons at TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota Campus.
