Many people debated all last season who was the MVP of the NBA with the award eventually going to Russell Westbrook over James Harden.

We know now that Harden wasn't going to be getting his former coach to endorse him as a leader either after Kevin McHale called out his former guard.

On NBA TV, McHale said "James can see all the passes and do everything, but James is not a leader."

McHale added, "He tried being a leader last year, tried doing all that stuff. I think Chris Paul is going to help him just kind of get back into just being able to hoop and play and stuff like that."

Of course McHale may be a bit bitter since he was canned by the Rockets and they went on to have even more success offensively without McHale as their coach with Mike D'Antoni getting the best out of Harden a year ago.

Harden had a career year including a career high in assists per game.

It will be interesting to see Harden's response especially after putting up the numbers he did a season ago.
