My heart absolutely aches today for the families of these babies...yes babies. Kindergarteners, who were senselessly gunned down in Newtown, Connecticut this morning.

Gun control proponents are using this horrible tragedy as a springboard to make their arguments which absolutely sickens me. WHY does everything have to be political?!?! My God, these poor families are going through something completely unimaginable and people are trying to politicize it! STOP IT! This is a case of terrorism by a young man with ties to the school. This is a time to grieve for the families and the horrible loss of our children, not time to try to capitalize and make a f#*^ing point!!

It has been a deadly year in the U.S. Just three days ago, three died after a gunman opened fire inside a mall in suburban Portland, Oregon. In August a shooter took the lives of six people at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, before being killed by a police officer. In July, a masked gunman opened fire at a midnight movie in Aurora, Colorado, killing 12 and injuring 58.

It shakes me to my core what has become of our country. This morning I wrote a blog about the innocence of youth and wishing I could be an elementary-aged child so I could go sledding again. About the same age as the victims of today's tragedy.

It's a scary world out there and getting scarier every day. PLEASE, let's put politics aside for the time being and help the people who truly need help instead of forwarding your agendas on these poor families.

Hug your kids and your grandkids a little tighter and a little longer tonight and keep them as safe as you can.
