WASHINGTON (AP) - History isn't on the Washington Capitals' side now that they've blown another series lead in the playoffs.

The Capitals were up 2-0 on the New York Rangers. Now the series is tied at two games apiece headed into Friday's Game 5.

Washington has lost an incredible eight series after holding a two-game lead. The team has won only four of nine series after leading 2-0.

Fortunately for the Capitals, the current roster is oblivious to much of that history.

Said defenseman Karl Alzner: "The fans like to panic a little bit sometimes, but we're not panicking."
