BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — The Yellow Cloud electric guitar that Prince played in numerous concerts has been sold for more than $137,000 at an auction.

The owner of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts, Jim Irsay, purchased the guitar that Prince used at gigs until the mid-1990s.

Mr. Irsay, who collects musical instruments, paid $137,500 for the guitar at an auction Saturday.

Heritage Auctions, which conducted the auction in Beverley Hills, California says the solid body guitar was a favorite of the late musician from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s.

Prince died on April 21st at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota of an accidental overdose of fentanyl.

Mr. Irsay also has instruments once owned by musicians Jerry Garcia of Grateful Dead, John Lennon and Ringo Star of The Beatles and singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.
