CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland Indians closer Chris Perez and has wife have been charged with misdemeanor drug possession in the shipment of just over one-third of a pound of marijuana mailed to their home.

Police in the Cleveland suburb of Rocky River say complaints were served on the two on Thursday and will be filed Friday in municipal court.

Police say Perez and his wife, Melanie, were released on personal bond. A message was left with his attorney Friday; the player and the lawyer haven't responded to previous requests for comment.

Perez has six saves this season but is on the disabled list with an injured right shoulder.
