SHENANDOAH, Iowa (AP) — A teenage runner in southwest Iowa has died after being hit by a car during cross country practice.

The Iowa State Patrol says 14-year-old Kinsee Rooker was crossing Iowa Highway 2 in Shenandoah when she was struck by a car Tuesday morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Nathan Ludwig says no charges have been filed and the crash is under investigation.
