Jackrabbits Say Goodbye to Talented Seniors With One Final Homestand

Unable to move into a tie with North Dakota State for the top spot in the Summit League last weekend, South Dakota State tries to nail down the conference’s number two spot with games against Denver and South Dakota this week.

At Fargo last Saturday, the Jackrabbits looked overwhelmed early, as the Bison had them down 15 points by halftime, and never let them get closer than 10 in the second half to complete the season sweep.

Head coach Scott Nagy says he takes responsibility for the team’s slow start in Fargo:

This week starts Thursday with a rematch against Denver, a team SDSU beat in the final seconds on the road last month in Colorado, thanks to some great defense and clutch shooting late.

Even though Denver shot 59 percent in the game, put five players in double figures, and only turned the ball over eight times, the Jacks were able to get the victory thanks to a plus 12 effort on the boards, leading to a 13-point edge in second chance points.

Coach Nagy liked the effort against the Pioneers in the first match-up:
