South Dakota State set three school records on the first day of The Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis.

On the women's side, the Jackrabbits' 800 freestyle relay squad of Andee Budahl, Hadlie Overhue, Julia Bodnaruk and Nicole Grimit finished in 7:28.46, which was good for second place and broke the 2012 mark of 7:34.66.  Denver took first place with a championship meet record time of 7:20.02.

Samantha Prasher, Emily Campbell, Nicole Grimit and Shauna Foor set the SDSU record in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:45.48, which was good for fifth place.

In the men's 800 freestyle relay, the Jacks' team of Garth Wadsworth, Ben Bolinske, Daniel Jacobson and Blake Yeager's time of 6:46.60 broke last year's school record of 6:47.01. The Jacks took third place in the event behind Denver and IUPUI.

The Pioneers lead the women's standings after two events with 80 points.  IUPUI is second with 66 points and SDSU is in third place with 62 points.

Denver also leads the men's standings with 80 points.  IUPUI is second with 66 points, SDSU is third with 62 points and South Dakota is tied with Eastern Illinois in fourth place with 56 points.

The Summit League Championships resume Thursday morning at the House of Champions on the campus of IUPUI.
