Jacks Go 1-1 In California On Sunday
In the first dual of the day against Cal Poly, SDSU jumped out to a 17-0 lead behind wins from Alex Kocer (149) and Joe Brewster (165), along with a tech fall from No. 17 Cody Pack (157) and a win by injury default from John Nething II (174).
Following a major decision loss at 184, Trey Hable and J.J. Everard each recorded major decisions of their own at 197 and 285, respectively.
Eric Orozco (141) ended the dual with a pin at the 6:06 mark to solidify the 31-10 win.
SDSU once again opened an early lead against the Cardinal, as Kocer opened the scoring with a 3-0 win before Pack recorded a 22-7 tech fall.
Following four-straight defeats, Everard won in overtime, 4-2 to pull the Jacks within two at 12-10.
Stanford would win back-to-back bouts before Eric Orozco recorded a major decision, 10-2 to close out the dual.
SDSU returns to Frost Arena Feb. 14 as it hosts Northern Illinois in its home finale.
