Sioux Falls’ chase for the NBADL Showcase Cup title came to an end with the Skyforce succumbing to the Bakersfield Jam 104-88 Saturday afternoon in Santa Cruz.  

At the 3:30 mark of the first quarter, Sioux Falls (12-11) tied the game at 18.  By the 9:07 mark of the second period, Bakersfield (16-8) had scored 18 straight to double the lead.  The game never got closer than 11 points for the rest of the game.

Bakersfield’s bench was a big boost with the four reserves each scoring in double figures and outscoring the Skyforce substitutes 48-19.  Phoenix Suns assignee Archie Goodwin posted 25 points and 5 boards in his role as a starter to lead the Jam.  Jamil Wilson was the top performer of the shock troops with 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Leading the Sioux Falls effort was Henry Walker’s 23 points on 9-14 shooting plus Shawn Jones who posted a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds with 2 blocks.

Bakersfield will play in the NBADL Showcase Cup Championship on Monday afternoon.  Sioux Falls will return home to face the Iowa Energy on Thursday at the Sanford Pentagon.
