Throughout the year we get caught up in our daily lives, taking for granted all the joys we experience each and every day.

Usually around the Holidays, most of us get an opportunity to spend time with family, have some time off to reflect and start to ponder the year that was.

Each year, I fall into the same trap as most, over looking all that has made me happy and joyful while taking for granted all the things I’m thankful for.

So do me a favor… Take some time and do as I have, look back, reflect and think about what you are thankful for this year!

As we march toward a new year, I present my 15 Days of Thanks!

Optimism is a trait that many exude while others lack.

Although it can be a trait, it also can be incorporated into the motto surrounding my favorite baseball team.

The Atlanta Braves seemingly every year present us as fans with optimism.

Even though being a Braves fan since I can remember there has been numerous times where they've broken my heart, over and over again, they are not only competitive, they are contenders in the National League year in and year out.

My infatuation with the Braves began when I used to attend games at old Fulton County Stadium when things were really beginning to finally get rolling.

Through thick and thin, I have been a fan.  And through thick and thin, they have continued to create optimism for me and others of "Braves Country".

Some may point to the missed opportunities in the postseason in which they fell short of the ultimate goal more times than not, only winning one World Series in that remarkable run.

But the run is what I point to, a record 14 strait seasons the Atlanta Braves made the playoffs.  That creates optimism in itself.

So as many baseball fans begin the season pessimistic as they have a better chance at Reality TV fame than their team winning a pennant, the Braves and their organization give me a reason to tune in and be optimistic each and every year.
