Throughout the year we get caught up in our daily lives, taking for granted all the joys we experience each and every day.

Usually around the Holidays, most of us get an opportunity to spend time with family, have some time off to reflect and start to ponder the year that was.

Each year, I fall into the same trap as most, over looking all that has made me happy and joyful while taking for granted all the things I’m thankful for.

So do me a favor… Take some time and do as I have, look back, reflect and think about what you are thankful for this year!

As we march toward a new year, I present my 15 Days of Thanks!

Day 9:

Most of the time, in-laws become the topic of most jokes and often don't make the best guest house guests… Again, just generalizing!

However, my "in-laws" are something to be thankful for!

I truly appreciate the time we get to spend all together during the holidays and it never seems as if time is standing still.

My mother in law Dawn works in Red Wing in the Community Education department and has typically been "open minded" toward her son in law.  A great mom and a good person.

My father in law Gary is completely original.  I guess I could compare him to Washington State head football coach Mike Leach, but that wouldn't even do him justice.  He currently works in Pueblo CO running a scrap recycling plant while traveling back as often as time provides to spend time with Dawn and his son Matt.

My brother in law Matt currently lives in Red Wing, MN and is in construction.  Can't beat him in pool, but I wax him in basketball which may be the real reason I like him.  Dude is 6'4 and works great as a brother in law or a body guard.

All in all, no jokes here, or at least about me liking them.

I'm truly blessed to have been able to add such good folks to my family and am very thankful for it.
