SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly has some advice for young quarterback Everett Golson on how to handle the demanding position: Listen to Robert Griffin III.

As he accepted the Heisman Trophy last year, the Baylor star thanked everyone who helped him be the player he became and called the experience "unbelievably believable" because of all the hard work it took to accomplish what he did.

Kelly told Golson that being the quarterback at Notre Dame goes well beyond what happens on the field. And Golson has been listening. He has picked it up in the classroom and the meeting room, and he had a solid debut last week in a rout of Navy.

He will be playing his first home game Saturday when the 22nd-ranked Irish face Purdue.
