MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine has been named to the Select Team of young players that will train against this year's U.S. basketball team.

USA Basketball named 25 players who will make up the 2016 USA Men's Select Team roster Tuesday.

LaVine played in all 82 games in his second year with the Timberwolves. He averaged 14 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while averaging 28 minutes per game.

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich will oversee the Select Team. Popovich will succeed Mike Krzyzewski as U.S. national coach after the Rio Olympics.

The Select Team also features a few college players expected to be high NBA draft picks. The team will work against the Americans during their training camp in Las Vegas from July 18-21.
