Lorde’s Popular Song “Royals” Has Been Banned in the City of San Francisco
The battle on the field has clearly made its way to the airwaves.
Lorde's popular song "Royals" has been banned in the city of San Francisco...
With the World Series currently going on and the city's beloved Giants taking on the Kansas City Royals, two local radio stations are giving any Mojo Gods any advantage by playing the popular song.
San Fran radio stations KOIT and KFOG announced the bans last week as the Giants clinched the opportunity to play for another world championship, trying to win their third in 6 years. According to the AP, KOIT program director Brian Figula said in a statement that listeners called for the ban. KOIT is a sister station of KZPT in Kansas City, MO.
On the flip side of things, a KC radio station plans on playing the song once an hour during primetime (7am-7pm) throughout the whole World Series.
