LOS ANGELES (AP) — You know you have a surplus of goaltending when you demote the NHL leader in goals-against average and save percentage.

The Los Angeles Kings have sent Martin Jones back to Manchester of the AHL to make room for netminder Jonathan Quick. Jones became the second goalies to win his first eight starts and went 8-3 with a 1.41 goals-against average and a .950 save percentage.

Quick missed 24 games with a strained groin before returning on Sunday.
