Matt Cassel to Start Sunday at Baltimore

Quarterback Christian Ponder hasn’t passed the protocol for a concussion, and as a result, Matt Cassel will start Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Frazier told ESPN 1500 yesterday that Cassel will make third start of the season.

In other Vikings news, Audie Cole will remain at middle linebacker. Erin Henderson will move to weak side linebacker. Sunday will be Cole’s third straight start for Minnesota.

Cornerback Chris Cook has appealed a $26,000 fine for contacting an official in Sunday’s win over Chicago. Cook was also ejected for the incident on Sunday.
