His stats are amazing. His performance is outstanding and Max Mickey has caught the eye of coaches across the country and is now a professional football player.

According to Dan Genzler of the University of Sioux Falls Mickey has signed a contract with San Antonio of the Alliance of American Football (AAF).

The former University of Sioux Falls Football running back ranks as one of the best in school history. Before he sat out the last five games of the regular season due to an injury in 2017 Mickey led the league with 174.6 yards per game.

Mickey had a rookie-minicamp workout with the Minnesota Vikings last May.

Mickey will go to training camp in November with San Antonio to compete for a spot on the team roster next February.

The AAF includes eight teams and will play a 12-week schedule beginning on Feb. 9, 2018 on CBS. The championship game will be held the weekend of April 26-28, 2018.
