MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — A Mitchell man is getting a chance to race against some big-name NASCAR drivers including his racing idol, four-time champion Jeff Gordon.

Brandon Puetz was one of the first 50 people to donate at least $400 to a charity called Kick It that raises money for children's research. That earned him one of 50 spots in a go-kart race with Gordon, Kyle Larson, Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne.

Puetz tells The Daily Republic newspaper that he's been a fan of NASCAR since he was a child. He says he can't wait to rub wheels with some of the top drivers in NASCAR. But that's exactly what he'll be doing in August in Knoxville, Iowa.
