MLB Prospect Throws 106 MPH in Workout Video and Gets Signed By Cleveland Indians
You always hear that you need to go out and get it if you really want something.
That is exactly what Casey Weathers did recently with a workout video that showcased him throwing 105.8 MPH.
In the video, he's actually doing a "pull down," in which the pitcher takes a crow hop and throws as hard as possible and boy does he.
Since the Indians have signed him, Weathers has increased his speed to 107.8 MPH doing the same drill.
In 2014, he was limited to only 10 and 1/3 innings and last season he ended up having a 3.83 ERA with 55 K's in over 49 innings. In 2015 with the Indians organization he split time between A and AA ball.
A little less than 10 years later after being selected by the Rockies in the MLB Draft, Casey Weathers is expected to find his way to the Indians AAA affiliate in 2016 at the age of 30.
