BURNSVILLE, MN -- University of Sioux Falls senior golfer Jordan Mueller has been named the NSIC Golfer of the Week following his performance at the first two rounds of the 2012-13 NSIC Men's Golf Championship played Monday-Tuesday at Madden's Resort on Gull Lake.

The Yankton native, saved his best for last, firing a season-best 71 (-1) to sit atop the individual leaderboard through day one. Mueller followed that showing with a 10-over 82 effort Tuesday to maintain a two-shot lead over Tyler Koivisto of St. Cloud State and Kowan O'Keefe of Minot State.

With Mueller's help, USF sits second in the team race with a two-day score of (315-317=632), placing them eight strokes back of St. Cloud State in first.

The 2012-13 NSIC Men's Golf Championship will consist of 72 holes, in which 36 will be played on Monday-Tuesday, October 8-9 at Madden's Resort on Gull Lake. The final 36 holes will be played April 13-14 at the Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn.

Mueller is the first USF golfer to earn NSIC Golfer of the Week honors.

USF men's golf wraps up their fall season Monday, October 15 when they will compete at the Missouri Western Invitational in St. Joseph, Mo.
